There are now calls for the American memorial at Mount Rushmore to be destroyed.

The Mount Rushmore National Memorial is a 60 foot high granite sculpture carved into Mount Rushmore in the Black Hills region of South Dakota that was completed in 1941.

The memorial depicts the faces of U.S. presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt and Abraham Lincoln.

But several Indian tribal leaders are now calling for the monument to be removed.

The president of a South Dakota tribe has called for Mount Rushmore to be removed in a way that does not harm the existing environment.

President Trump is set to visit the monument over this Independence Day weekend to view a fireworks display celebrating America.

But Indian leaders say they are offended that the President chose to visit the area without first requesting tribal permission. The Sioux have never officially ceded the land to the United States.

They also say that Mount Rushmore is a symbol of white supremacy and of structural racism in society today, with it representing the white faces of conquerors who committed an injustice stealing indigenous people’s land.

Mount Rushmore is also one of several historical memorials targeted by protesters after the death of George Floyd, a black man who died after being arrested by a policeman who knelt on his neck in South Dakota’s neighboring state of Minnesota.

In this time of offense, the “cancel culture” is raging, calling for the removal of anything a group may consider offensive.

The Biblical Prophecies of Jesus (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that there will be an environment existing in which many will be offended that will be a sign indicating the nearing end of this age of grace.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
