New data released from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) reveal that sexually transmitted disease (STD) rates continue to climb in the U.S. with nearly 2.3 million cases reported to the CDC.

The data on yearly trends in reported STDs show that the increases in STDs have continued for four consecutive years.

From 2013-2017: Syphilis cases nearly doubled, Gonorrhea cases increased by 67%, and Chlamydia remained at record highs.

While striking, the data on reported STDs is only part of the story, since they say many cases go unreported and undiagnosed, and the consequences of untreated infections can be severe.

Also important to note is the fact that STDs impact some groups more than others.

Men who have sex with men made up almost 70 percent of primary and secondary syphilis, and young women 15-24 made up about 45 percent of the 1.7 million reported cases of chlamydia.

The above data shows that lifestyle choices have an impact on health in life as the Holy Bible teaches, as well as in the eternal destiny.

The Holy Bible teaches in 1 Corinthians 3, 6, & 10, that our bodies are to be a temple of the Holy Spirit so we are to glorify God in our bodies so that whatever we do to do it all to the glory of God. Because if we destroy God’s temple with sin He will also destroy us.

The Scripture also says in Romans 12 that because of the mercies of God, we are to present our bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is our reasonable service to Him. And to not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of our mind, that we may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

And the prophecies of Jesus concerning the Last Days of this age indicated that the lifestyle of the world would increasingly become immoral.

He prophesied in Luke 17 that “Likewise as it was also in the days of Lot… even so will it be in the day when the Son of Man is revealed.” Lot lived in Sodom, and their names were forever linked together in Genesis the 19th chapter as a day of extreme immoral lifestyle which brought upon them the curse of destruction.

But thanks be to God, that he has provided us now His grace and salvation through the blood of Jesus which cleanses us from all sin when we are born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God through the Name and Spirit of Jesus Christ, as Jesus commanded in John 3 and His Apostles preached and practiced in Acts 2.
