Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

A strong earthquake rocked eastern Turkey where the death toll has climbed to 22 and with more than 1,000 people injured, according to officials.

The Interior Minister speaking at a televised news conference near the epicenter of the quake described how people had been rescued from collapsed buildings, and rescue workers were continuing to search for people buried under the rubble.

Also, emergency workers and security forces distributed tents, beds and blankets as temperatures dropped below freezing in the affected areas as churches, schools, sports halls and student dormitories were opened for those who left their homes after the quake.

As residents described the earthquake being very severe with them desperately running out of their homes and that they are looking for safe places to stay.

The earthquake was reported as a 6.7 magnitude at a depth of 6.7 kilometers. And it was followed by 228 aftershocks, the strongest with magnitudes 5.4 and 5.1.

TV stations showed emergency workers removing people from the wreckage of collapsed buildings and a prison was also evacuated after being damaged in the quake.

Rescue teams have been working around the clock with more than 2,600 personnel from 39 of Turkey’s 81 provinces sent to the disaster site.

The leader of Turkey’s Parliament said, “Our biggest hope is that the death toll does not rise.”

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that earthquakes will be a sign of the Last Days indicating the coming end of this age of grace.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
