Major Earthquake Hits Greece & Turkey As Buildings Collapse & Sea Comes In

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

A strong earthquake has struck the Aegean Sea and inflicted damage in both Greece and Turkey. Where buildings collapsed, people were trapped in rubble, and water filled streets from a sea surge.

There are reports of people going into the streets in the Turkish coastal city of Izmir after the magnitude 7.0 earthquake hit. The US Geological Survey said the depth was 10km and the epicentre was 33.5 km off Turkey’s coast.

Turkish media showed wreckage of a multiple-story building in central Izmir, with rescuers climbing it to reach people and smoke was seen in several spots in the city.

Images on social media also showed water rushing through some streets of Izmir from an apparent sea surge.

Interior and Environment Ministers of Turkey said that there were several collapsed buildings with people trapped in the rubble.

The quake was also felt across the eastern Greek islands and even in the Greek capital, Athens. Where residents were said to have fled their homes and describing the quake as lasting for a while.

Some residents of islands were urged to stay away from coastal areas as public television reported the temblor caused a mini-tsunami causing damage to buildings and triggering some flooding.

This is a breaking and evolving event with reports still coming in of buildings collapsing and the sea coming in at the coasts. The number of casualties has not yet been determined.

**Update 10-31-2020

The death toll has risen to 28 so far as hundreds of aftershocks rippled on, and more than 800 were injured in three Turkish cities. And to this point, roughly 100 people have been rescued.

The powerful quake off the coast in the Aegean Sea shook Izmir, Turkey’s third largest city, the hardest when it hit midday Friday, sending a mini-tsunami flooding the streets as it toppled at least 20 buildings.

At least 26 there in the city were killed, including one who drowned, and an untold number were trapped beneath the rubble of at least 20 pancaked buildings. As search and rescue operations are ongoing.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that earthquakes will be a sign of the Last Days indicating the nearing end of this age of grace.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
