The first result of Trumps Jerusalem announcement is that it will fan the flames of violence and terror across the Middle East and the world, but a prophetic next step will then result.
The first impact of the shock waves from President Trump’s announcement that the U.S. formally recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital is now hitting with protests, riots, and violence across the Middle East against the U.S. and Israel.
Throngs of Palestinian protesters gathered at 30 locations across the West Bank and Gaza clashing with Israeli security forces in the West Bank cities of Hebron, Bethlehem and Ramallah after midday prayers as part of a day of rage over the Trump administration’s decision.
Thousands of Palestinian worshipers also rallied outside Jerusalem’s Al Aqsa Mosque, a flashpoint site in the holy city, with the protesters in Jerusalem chanting “America is the head of the snake”. But large protests are also taking place in Muslim majority countries around the world, including Turkey, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran and Indonesia.
In Israel the protests turned violent as protesters threw stones at Israeli troops who responded with tear gas and rubber bullets with about 100 injured. Then two Palestinians were shot dead in Gaza by the Israeli army.
Then in response to rocket fire at nearby Israeli towns, Israeli planes bombed militant targets in Gaza with reports of approximately 2 dozen injured including children.
But this is only the beginning of the violence, for Islamists across the world view the recognition of the Holy City as Israel’s capital as being done at the expense of Muslims , and a call to arms.
Also, a dangerous escalation is in the offing that leads to more extremism and creates an atmosphere which helps terrorism. For the recognition of Jerusalem as Israel’s capital presents an opportunity for jihad, where more terrorists will be recruited from this that will commit carnage in its name.
Already Al Qaeda has quickly moved to capitalize on the outrage with a statement designed to garner support saying “Jerusalem is not Trump’s property to give away to Jews.” Also, similar statements have been released by al-Shabab, the Taliban, Hezbollah, and Hamas.
Several Western foreign ministries, including the UK and US, have now issued travel warnings for the Middle East and North Africa following Trump’s announcement.
And the countries of the European Union which have suffered through many significant Islamic terror attacks in recent years are extremely upset with Trump, declaring his announcement a huge mistake saying they expect it to have serious repercussions for peace prospects.
Whether the violence and terrorism actually escalates or not, without doubt the overarching and overpowering fear of it happening has now escalated exponentially. The fearful expectation this declaration will inflame Middle East tensions and intensify events of conflict and terrorism is a fact.
And this fear will drive the nations of the world to produce another effect from Trump’s Jerusalem announcement that has heavy prophetic import. It will ultimately cause an outcry by the world for peace in the Middle East that will become overwhelming.
And the nations of the world, especially the European Union, are becoming desperate to see an Arab-Israeli peace solution agreement happen. Which they view as being the resolution to Islamic violence and terrorism they are experiencing in their own countries.
This coming escalation and outcry for peace will unleash signs of the First Horseman of the Apocalypse in Revelation 6:2 where it says “… behold, a white horse. He who sat on it had a bow; and a crown was given to him, and he went out conquering and to conquer.”
A previously unequaled desire for peace that drives efforts to conquer or resolve this Jerusalem issue between Arabs and Israel with a solution that seems to bring peace is soon coming.
It has been triggered by Trump recognizing Israel’s legitimate historical rights to Jerusalem and the Temple Mount and now the need to bring consolation to the Muslim world over it.
