The United States military has wrote to Iraq that it will pull out of the country and would be re-positioning forces over the next few days and weeks, a letter seen by Reuters showed.
It was not immediately clear what the numbers of troops or when they would leave, but helicopters could be heard flying over Baghdad during the night.
The letter said coalition forces would be using helicopters to evacuate.
The letter said, “Sir, in deference to the sovereignty of the Republic of Iraq, and as requested by the Iraqi Parliament and the Prime Minister, CJTF-OIR will be repositioning forces over the course of the coming days and weeks to prepare for onward movement.”
It was signed by United States Marine Corps Brigadier General William H. Seely III, commanding general of Task Force Iraq, the U.S.-led military coalition against Islamic State.
The authenticity of the letter, which was addressed to the Iraqi defense ministry’s Combined Joint Operations Baghdad, was confirmed to Reuters independently by an Iraqi military source.
The letter also said: “We respect your sovereign decision to order our departure. During this time, there will be an increase in helicopter travel in and around the International Zone (IZ) of Baghdad.”
The International Zone is the formal name of Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone which houses government buildings and foreign missions.
This is in the aftermath of the US killing of the powerful leader of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps, Qassim Suleimani, who was killed in a US drone strike at Iraq’s Baghdad Airport.
The Biblical Prophecies (Matthew 24) foretell that in the Last Days nation will rise against nation and there will be wars and rumors of wars.
These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
