U.S. Strikes Iran’s Proxy Militias In Iraq & Syria

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

The United States military has struck five targets in Iraq and Syria controlled by an Iranian paramilitary group, the Pentagon said.

This was a counter-strike in response to a rocket attack on a U.S. base in Iraq where several US troops were wounded and an American civilian contractor was killed.

The airstrikes, carried out by Air Force F-15E fighter planes, hit three locations in Iraq and two in Syria controlled by the group, Kataib Hezbollah.

With the targets including weapons storage facilities and command posts that were used to attack American and partner forces.

The ammunition facilities that were struck held both rockets and drones used by Kataib Hezbollah, and the command and control buildings had been used by the group to plot attacks.

Sayyid Jaafar Al-Husseini, the Hezbollah military spokesman in Iraq, claimed that 24 were killed and more than 50 wounded in the U.S. strike. American officials have not been able to confirm how many members of the group were killed.

Iran has long supported Kataib Hezbollah providing them weapons. And the group has tight ties with the Quds Force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corp which the United States has labeled a terrorist organization.

The counter-strike by the U.S. came after the Iranian militia in Iraq fired as many as 30 rockets into a military base housing U.S. forces there.

And the attack by Iran’s militia came after several previous rocket attacks that have been targeting bases housing American forces in the last two months.

U.S. officials had been warning Iran and its proxies to halt the rocket attacks.

After this U.S. counter-strike, U.S. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said “We will not stand for the Islamic Republic of Iran to take actions that put American men and women in jeopardy.”

And chief Pentagon spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said the United States would conduct additional strikes if the attacks by Kataib Hezbollah did not stop.

When Americans are wounded or killed, such a response is not unusual, but this was the first attack by the U.S. making direct strikes on Iranian proxies in the Middle East.

And this moves Iran and the U.S. much closer to a direct proxy war and possibly open conflict in the Mid-East.

The Biblical Prophecies (Matthew 24) foretell that in the Last Days nation will rise against nation and there will be wars and rumors of wars.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
