Wheat farmers across the country are facing lower yields as 98% of the country’s wheat crop is in areas experiencing severe heat and drought.
And the damage to the wheat crop isn’t just a concern to farmers but anyone who likes cakes, pastries, biscuits, ramen noodles, and a lot of other tasty stuff.
In the Northern Plains, the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) has said that farmers are projected to harvest their smallest crop of wheat in several decades.
Also, the USDA has said that 68% of the Pacific Northwest’s spring wheat was in “poor or very poor” conditions. While the USDA found that 98% of the U.S. wheat crop is trying to grow in areas hit by drought.
The North Dakota Wheat Commission said, “producers in the driest areas continue to make choices on abandoning or haying their wheat crop depending on yield potential.”
Wheat farmers don’t irrigate wheat fields, which lowers productions costs and doesn’t tap into scarce water resources.
And this lack of irrigation infrastructure can be devastating for farmers when drought coupled with record-setting heat hits.
The entire states of Oregon and Idaho are in drought as is much of Washington, including the eastern part of the state where wheat largely grows. Farmers are scrambling to handle the one-two punch of drought and a searing heatwave.
And farmers are saying the situation is as dire as they’ve ever seen it. While bulk wheat purchasers are scrambling trying to figure out markets with less wheat supply.
The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Revelation 16) foretell the earth will become hotter from the sun and that there will be famines, as record heatwaves and drought with failing crops are now signaling we are nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
