Powerful severe earthquakes have shaken the Middle East where the death toll is in the thousands and still climbing as it’s feared that 10,000 are expected dead from the tremors.
A severe 7.8 magnitude earthquake has hit southern Turkey and northern Syria and then within hours another massive shaker of 7.5 magnitude also hit after the original quake.
People were left trapped and injured in several areas in the countries as it hit while they were sleeping.
The tremors of the quake were felt as far as Jordan and Israel, also across the Mediterranean Sea in Cyprus, and in Lebanon and Egypt. Also Italy issued a tsunami alert for their coastal populations.
The death toll has already raced past 6,000 and still climbing.
And after the earthquakes razed buildings to the ground and trapping thousands beneath the rubble experts are warning the death toll could reach as high as 10,000.
Most of the damage is in southern Turkey and northern and central Syria and the death toll is expected to grow as casualty reports come in from individual provinces.
Multiple aftershocks of serious magnitude were continued to be reported both in Syria and Turkey but also in Iraq and Lebanon, with hundreds of buildings damaged forcing residents to pour outside into winter cold.
Tens of thousands have been left homeless in Turkey and Syria with people taking refuge in shopping malls, stadiums and community centers.
The quake, which was centered on Turkey’s southeastern province of Kahramanmaras, even sent residents of Damascus and Beirut rushing into the streets and was felt as far away as Cairo.
One Syrian that was in the earthquakes said that ‘it was like the apocalypse.’ Others spoke of how they ‘knelt and prayed fearing it was judgement day’ as buildings started to fall before dawn.
The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Revelation 6) foretell that there will be earthquakes in the Last Days signaling the world is nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3:3-5) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
