1200 Pastors On Day Of Pentecost To Defy State & Open Gatherings

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

More than 1,200 pastors in California say they plan to resume gatherings for in-person church services by May 31, regardless of the state’s stay-at-home orders for coronavirus.

The pastors say that in-person services should be considered essential and allowed to resume even if other parts of the state remain closed due to the pandemic.

They also say they represent the interests of “hundreds of members of clergy and thousands of churches and ministries in California” including “tens of thousands of congregants.”

Their petition states that churches will reopen to the public on May 31 as it is also The Day of Pentecost, known as the birthday of the Christian church.

The Day of Pentecost is the day in the Bible in Acts chapter 2 when God started His Church founded on Jesus Christ and His Apostles.

When the coronavirus pandemic hit, church services were deemed nonessential along with other organizations and businesses that were ordered to close, while others such as health care facilities and grocery stores were allowed to stay open.

Also in a related letter to Gov. Newsom, the pastors cited their First Amendment rights to the free exercise of religion and noted that religious workers are unable to provide vital community services due to stay-at-home mandates.

The letter also said, “The clergy of this state are convinced that they must reopen their ministries to fully serve the needs of their communities. The spiritual services of ministries are absolutely essential to the health and welfare of the people of California.”

Other pastors of churches around the country have also been fighting state government’s restrictions on churches for the coronavirus pandemic.

A Florida pastor was arrested for defying state lockdown orders and holding in-person services, and also a Louisiana pastor. More recently, a Baltimore pastor tore up a cease-and-desist letter when refusing to halt in-person services.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24) describe that pestilence will be a sign which indicates the beginning of the end of this age of grace, and that tribulation or trouble will come to believers at that time.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

The prophecy has come true, the perilous times are here. The need is greater than ever before.
