Israeli media reports that Iran has launched a large wave of attack drones/missiles from its territory toward the Jewish state in the first-ever direct attack on Israel by the Islamic Republic of Iran.
An IDF spokesman confirmed that the attack, anticipated for several days, had begun and that the Israeli military was tracking and intercepting them.
Iran’s Revolutionary Guards also confirmed it had launched drones and missiles against specific targets inside of Israel on Iranian state media.
Israel assessed that over 300 drones/missiles had been launched and said the Israeli Air Force was tracking the drones and shooting them down out over Iraq and Syria.
Israeli TV news also reported US and British warplanes had downed some Iranian drones over the Iraq-Syria border area, without citing sources.
The incoming attack led Jordan, Iraq and Lebanon to shut down their airspace and Israel too announced that its airspace was shut down as well.
Egyptian military and security sources said that Egypt’s air defenses were on alert. Syria also put on high alert its Russian-made Pantsir ground-to-air defense systems around the capital Damascus and major bases.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel’s top defense leaders convened at military headquarters in Tel Aviv and are doing a security assessment.
It is currently unknown if this is the end of Iran’s direct attack on Israel or the beginning. And also unknown what Israel’s response to the attack from Iran could be.
The entire Middle East region has been on edge due to the Israel-Hamas war, attacks by Hezbollah of Lebanon on Israel’s northern border, attempted attacks on Israel from the south by the Houthis of Yemen, and attacks by Israel on Iranian forces in Syria.
The Biblical prophecies (Psalm 83, Ezekiel 38, Joel 3) foretell that there will be conflict between Israel and the Islamic Arabs and Persia Iran in the Last Days signaling the world is nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.
