2 Nuclear Plants In Hurricane Irma’s Path At Risk

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

Two nuclear power plants in the state of Florida lie in the expected path of Hurricane Irma, one of the most powerful Atlantic hurricanes in recorded history.

Officials at the Florida Power and Light Company (FPL) had been unsure whether to shut down the plants, located in Turkey Point and St. Lucie Florida;  since it takes time to shut down a nuclear reactor, and the decision on whether to do so must be made “well in advance” of the hurricane’s landfall.

They also said if they anticipate there will be direct impacts on either facility they will shut down the units.

Now additional word has come in from the chief communications officer at Florida Power & Light saying this is an extremely dangerous storm, and the 2 nuclear power plants are shutting down to brace for Hurricane Irma’s devastating wind and rain.
