US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has announced that two Middle Eastern men on the terror watch list have been apprehended at the US southern border.

CBP reported that two Yemeni men had been apprehended in the El Centro Sector in California and identified as on the terror watch list.

The first arrest, involved a 33-year-old illegal Yemeni who was on both the FBI’s Terrorism Watch List and a No-Fly List. The second just occurred in the same sector with a 26-year-old who was also on both lists.

The first was handed over to Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) while the second was being held in federal custody. The older man was found with a mobile phone SIM card under the insole of his shoe.

Republican Representative McCarthy of California said, “Through conversations with the Border Patrol and media reports, I have learned of the apprehension of foreign nationals on the Terrorism Watch List who were attempting to illegally cross our southern border,” McCarthy wrote. “This highlights the ongoing national security risk posed by the border crisis.”

Just recently, McCarthy and a Republican delegation traveled to El Paso, Texas, to see the humanitarian and security crisis that has exploded along the US southern border since Biden entered the White House.

And now in a letter to FBI Director Christopher Wray and CIA Director William Burns, obtained by Fox News, McCarthy has requested a classified briefing regarding the individuals apprehended by the U.S. Border Patrol.

McCarthy also described how that thousands of people were evading capture by the U.S. Border Patrol. And that there was great concern about the number of bad actors that have escaped arrest and are residing in the United States.

And reports say that the US immigration system is being overwhelmed at the southern border. Where it is no longer able to properly screen migrants with them not being properly vetted before they are released.

McCarthy also said: “We simply have no way of knowing if other terrorists have crossed the border undetected.”
