A strong 6.3 magnitude earthquake has struck the Oregon coast today according to the U.S. Geological Survey, but did not cause any damage or injuries.

And there is no tsunami threat, according to the National Tsunami Warning Center. The epicenter of the quake when it hit today was located about 150 miles from land at a depth of 7 miles in the Pacific Ocean.

This quake is said to be by far the largest that has hit the Pacific Northwest recently. And the quake comes during an important seismic moment for the Pacific Northwest.

Because scientists says the “slow-slip” tremor event is happening beneath Puget Sound this month, which seismologists think may increase the risk of a major Cascadia Subduction Zone earthquake.

And Oregon has already experienced a slow-slip event earlier this summer. And scientists believe there’s an elevated risk of a mega earthquake in Cascadia during the “slow-slip” period.

When during slow-slip, the Juan de Fuca tectonic plate stalls and moves westward, which puts stress on the Cascadia subduction zone. And they say the tremors happening in Oregon are an indication of that change in plate movement.

On July 12, a magnitude 4.6 earthquake had already hit near Monroe and was felt up and down Puget Sound. It was the strongest earthquake to hit the Seattle area since the 2001 magnitude 6.8 Nisqually quake.

And the Cascadia fault is believed by scientists to be overdue for a major earthquake on the West Coast in the Pacific Northwest. And now we have this strong 6.3 magnitude earthquake off the Oregon coast causing some to ask if the “big one” is close to happening.

The Biblical Prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that there will be diverse earthquakes signaling we are nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all these things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy that comes upon the world of disobedience, as the born again Church is appointed instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
