A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck in Nevada near the town Tonopah which is located about three hours north of Las Vegas.
Strong aftershocks continue to rock the area where at least 15 aftershocks have happened including quakes measuring 5.o-m and higher.
The director of the Nevada Seismological Lab, Graham Kent, said this is the largest earthquake to hit Nevada since 1954, when a 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit.
According to reports from the U.S. Geological Survey, residents reported feeling the quake as far east as Salt Lake City, Utah, and as far southwest as San Diego, a 750-mile range of reported impacts.
Tonopah is home to the Tonopah Test Range, home of the U.S. Air Force’s test site of experimental and classified aircraft and famous for its connection with Area 51 enthusiasts.
Highway 95 was closed in both directions after it was discovered that the quake caused a large crack across the road.
People from as far east as Salt Lake City, Utah, to near the Mexico border reported a strong rolling from the earthquake that woke thousands of people up from their sleep.
One person described a strong force from the west tried to move their house to the east with three strong pushes spaced seconds apart and then a little later more rolling motions.
Another person described how that their bed took a long time to stop rolling as the quake woke them up out of a dead sleep. Saying they had lived in California over 20 years and had never felt one like that.
The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) describe that earthquakes will be a sign which indicates the beginning of the end of this age of grace called the “beginning of sorrows.”
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
