The storm-stricken Caribbean Islands are a sprawling disaster zone where a business owner said people there were “roaming like zombies.” Since they were reeling in shock not knowing what to do with their island being wiped out.
The owner managed to leave for the mainland but her husband, who is still there in St. John in the U.S. Virgin Islands, told her that residents and tourists are in shock, that “it’s like the walking dead down there.”
In Cuba, where the government said it had evacuated 1 million residents, Hurricane Irma’s driving winds and pelting rains sent roofs flying, knocked over trees, wrecked buildings and caused large-scale flooding, causing some Cubans to even seek shelter in caves.
Also, dramatic tales of escape began to emerge. A restaurant manager on St. John, said his family had barricaded themselves in the bathroom of their home. When they emerged, he said, they saw a scene of total destruction.
“It was beyond rough times, it was end-of-the-world times. Everything normal to us has been destroyed,” he said.
Such descriptions in this true story are eerily similar to those to be found in the Signs of the Last Days prophecies in the Book of Revelation.
Where people when faced with experiencing the devastating consequences in the wrath of the Great Tribulation, are shocked, saying “who is able to stand” and endeavor to “hide themselves in the caves and in the rocks of the mountains.” (Revelation 6:12-17)
