Jared Kushner, US President Donald Trump’s senior adviser and son-in-law, has just announced that the much delayed US Mid-East peace plan will be pushed out again, saying the US administration’s peace plan will not be unveiled until June — at the earliest.
Their last statement of delay, after many such previous statements, was that the Trump Administration’s peace plan would be delayed until after the Israeli Elections and then released.
But now, again, the plan is to be delayed with the announcement by Kushner that it will be rolled out after the new Israeli government is sworn in and following the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.
This Trump peace plan has been pushed out so many times until it looks like the ugly orphan nobody wants. And that’s just it, nobody wants it.
The Israeli’s are quite happy with the status quo, the Israeli election proved that with Netanyahu being elected again. And Netanyahu has shown no real interest in negotiating with the Palestinians.
Netanyahu actually considers previous negotiations to have been a bad move for Israel. He said so during the election stressing the importance of making every effort to preserve the right-wing government, so as to not allow a centrist or left government to come into power that might repeat something like the Oslo negotiations.
So while Netanyahu is nice to his good friend Trump saying that Israel will fully engage and take a look at the Trump Administration peace plan, there is no real concern for it.
And when it comes to the Palestinians, from their viewpoint they’ve had all of Trump they could ever possibly, not want.
The Palestinians have not even communicated with the White House in over a year, since Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital and moved the U.S. embassy there, and has repeatedly dismissed the president as an honest broker. They view Trump as the friend of Netanyahu and Israel who is not impartial.
Everyone knows that Trump likes to win or at least have the appearance of winning. In a speech Trump promised his base, “You’re going to get tired of winning.”
Trump likes to win and wants situations in which he can say that he won. So we don’t doubt for a second that if his administration had a plan he thought could look like a winner for peace in the Mid-East, he would have already released such a plan without any delay.
Because he’s also smart enough to know when he can win, as in the last US presidential election. And that’s why the Trump Administration’s Mid-East peace plan is an orphan that keeps getting pushed out again and again, it can’t win.
And Biblically it’s not suppose to. Biblical prophecy foretells how that the Last Days agreement with Israel in the Mid-East region will come about.
The Daniel and Revelation prophecies show that there will be a 10 king federation (Daniel 7, Revelation 13, 17) arise in the region around the Mediterranean Sea. And from that federation will then come the prince or leader who brings about a 7 year deal with Israel (Daniel 9).
That deal will provide for Israel’ identity and security in such a way that their Jewish temple and worship is again seen in Jerusalem. But the deal will also contain the seeds of Armageddon within it as well, with that realized at the end of the 7 years.
Trump once said that Mid-East peace would be the “deal of the century.” He was wrong. It will be the deal of the age, but one that brings the age to an end.
“For when they say, “Peace and safety!” then sudden destruction comes upon them, as labor pains upon a pregnant woman. And they shall not escape.” (1 Thess. 5)
