A magnitude 4.7 earthquake has hit the San Francisco Bay Area today and this is just a day after the Bay Area was also rattled by a 4.5 quake only a 100 miles away previously.

The 4.7 quake was felt across the Bay Area and Central Coast, according to the U.S. Geological Survey.

It was also felt as far away as San Francisco, San Luis Obispo and the San Joaquin Valley. And strong shaking hit the remote Diablo range in between Monterey and San Benito counties.

The quake also caused swaying of an office building in San Mateo County with it swaying for several seconds. And geophysicists said the tremor events are also having a series of aftershocks.

The earthquakes occurred along what experts call the San Andreas fault, which is  notable for not having had a dramatically large earthquake in the recent historical record.

But about 300 miles of the northern San Andreas fault, between San Juan Bautista in San Benito County and Cape Mendocino, ruptured in the great 1906 earthquake that destroyed much of San Francisco in shaking and fire.

And with these current back-to-back earthquakes at 4.5+ magnitude along the San Andreas Fault, experts are wondering if these quakes are foreshocks as a harbinger of a big one soon to come.

Seismologist Lucy Jones has warned the tremors could get worse in the days to come. Dr Jones said “Any quake can be a foreshock, there’s a slight increase in the chance of a bigger quake for the next few days….”

The 7.1 magnitude earthquake that struck Ridgecrest in Southern California this summer was preceded by several foreshocks that led up to the big quake.

The San Andreas Fault is a region beneath California which is of particular concern to seismologists, with many claiming it is long overdue a huge shake up.

Dr Thomas Rockwell, a San Diego State University geology professor and paleoseismologist, has said that the San Andreas fault is overdue since from dating past earthquakes, they know that the San Andreas is ripe for a large earthquake.

Another reason why many experts are expecting a big one in California, is that it sits on the dreaded Pacific Ring of Fire with the major San Andreas fault running almost the entire length of the state along the Pacific Ocean.

The Ring of Fire is the largest and most active fault line in the world, stretching from New Zealand, around the east coast of Asia, over to Canada and the USA and all the way down to the southern tip of South America.

The plates which make up the Ring of Fire are so huge even the slightest shift results in massive tremors, volcano activity and tsunamis, and causes more than 90 percent of the world’s earthquakes.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Revelation 6) foretell in the Last Days that severe seismic activity will be a sign of the Last Days.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
