The building political tensions in this deeply divided country of America are reaching a boiling point to where conditions seem to have unfolded with the real possibility for some type of modern civil war in America in the 2020’s.

The roar of a fracture in the fault line that runs through America could begin in this coming election year of 2020.

And there are many Americans thinking the same way on this. A lot of us are thinking the signs are strong the country is already fractured and divided, with it extremely polarized and becoming overtly hostile along the lines of division up to the point of violence.

The Washington Examiner reported a poll released by Georgetown University’s Institute of Politics and Public Service that found a majority of Americans, 7 out of 10, believed that we are two-thirds of the way to being on the edge of civil war.

And that the political division should make the upcoming 2020 presidential race the nastiest in modern history, with the poll painting a scenario picturing an extremely negative campaign that will continue to exacerbate the incivility in America.

And experts are saying that they are seeing the signs building which indicate the possibility of a modern-day type of civil war coming in America.

Newsweek reported how a history professor at Boston College, Heather Richardson, who is an expert in 19th century America warned that today’s America looks eerily similar to the period before the civil war of 1861.

Judith Giesberg, the editor of the Journal of the Civil War Era and a Civil War historian at Villanova University, said when you look at the map of red and blue states today and overlap on top of it the map of the Civil War—and who was allied with who in the Civil War—not much really has changed.

The New Yorker and Foreign Policy Magazine reported how that Keith Mines, an American who has spent his career in public service in the U.S. Army Special Forces, at the United Nations, and then the US State Department, said that he now sees conditions in the US that has nurtured conflict in other countries abroad.

This comes from someone who in his career navigated civil wars in other countries, including Afghanistan, Colombia, El Salvador, Iraq, Somalia, and Sudan.

And when he was asked to evaluate the risks of a second civil war in America, he concluded that the United States faces a sixty-per-cent chance of civil war over the next ten years in the 2020’s.

Based on his experience in civil wars on several continents, he cited the conditions supporting his prediction: saying they are entrenched national polarization with no obvious meeting place for resolution; increasingly divisive press coverage; weakened national institutions; an abandonment of responsibility by political leadership; and the legitimization of violence as a way to conduct discourse or solve disputes.

And then he said, “It’s just like 1859, everyone is mad about something and everyone has a gun.”

Historian Niall Ferguson at Stanford wrote in the Sunday Times of London, that if someone were to design a “Civil War Clock” comparable to the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists’ “Doomsday Clock,” the designer would probably now be announcing that it is “two minutes to Fort Sumter.”

So both the public and the experts say they see a conflict coming for America as recent signs in society show this is very much at the forefront in America.

Where we just saw how civil war 2 has been trending on twitter after the US President himself said in a tweet that if he is removed from office, a “civil war” could erupt in the United States. As the president was quoting a Christian mega-church Pastor, who said that impeaching the president would be a fracture in the country that could lead to “civil war.”

Throughout history, conflicts have always given off signs that they were coming. Just as prior to the first civil war, there was extreme polarization with the nation divided into groups of angry, polarized voters which made it impossible to find any middle ground.

And our culture today is similar, foretelling of possible civil conflict coming again where the dam holding back pent-up emotions could be fractured and break with a triggering event that incites violence which could start in the 2020 election. Or did it already start in 2016?

The contentious debates of 2016 with their insults on stage and violence in the streets outside could have been a harbinger of what is yet to come. Where the gloves have come off, with things being said and done such as never before seen. And it’s expected that the worst is yet to come with the 2020 election.

History shows that great nations and empires of the past did not fail because of external enemies, but because of internal chaos that weakened them from divisions and hatred.

There is a Scripture in the Holy Bible that stands as a prophecy against the future of America. Where in Mark chapter 3 the Scripture declares that a house divided against itself cannot stand. And the same goes for countries.

And this Republic is in danger as the divisions and hatred are beginning to come in like a flood with the current pulling it away from its Biblical moorings of the precepts of the Word of God.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
