A comet identified 3 months ago by astronomers is surprising everyone as it has appeared from behind the sun boomeranging back toward Earth and growing so bright it is becoming the great comet of 2020 and a possible harbinger.

On March 27, astronomers first discovered the comet using NEOWISE, or Near-Earth Object Wide-field Infrared Survey Explorer, a space telescope launched by NASA more than a decade ago.

The astronomers cataloged the comet as C/2020, and also gave it the moniker Comet NEOWISE, but didn’t think much of it at the time as it seemed small and was thought to stay dim.

But, after surviving a flyby approach to the sun, it seems the comet is boomeranging back toward Earth and is becoming so bright in the sky it can be seen with the naked eye.

Making it the first so-called “great comet” to streak through the sky in 2020. Paul Delaney, an astronomy professor at York University, said “that’s surprisingly what NEOWISE has become. We weren’t expecting it.”

This comet is surprising just about everyone in the astronomy world. Comet expert John E. Bortle of Stormville, New York said he’s “amazed” at the comet’s performance.

He also described how theoretically, the comet should not still be brightening as its distance to the sun is undergoing a day-to-day reduction at this point.

But the comet’s current brightness is growing, making the scientists think it is experiencing some manner of progressive slow outburst of some kind from its nucleus.

In Rome, Gianluca Masi, with the Virtual Telescope Project, described how on July 7th that Comet NEOWISE was very obvious to see by naked eye from the Vatican City.

And that he was 23 years younger the last time that a naked eye comet was spotted from the city of Rome. The comet from 23 years ago was Comet Hale-Bopp, which was dubbed the Great Comet of 1997.

Comets fall into two categories. “Common” comets which are faint fuzz-balls that are visible only with the help of good binoculars or telescopes.

And then, there are the “Great” comets, those that become bright enough to be plainly visible with the naked eye and accompanied by a striking tail, which are more rare.

This is what Comet NEOWISE has surprisingly become, a Great Comet of 2020.

In history, the traveling stars in the heavens we call comets were foreseen as a heavenly sign of major events in humanity for that of change or of great disaster.

A comet appeared shortly before the 1066 invasion of England by William the Conqueror, which he said the comet heralded his victory, and the comet we now know as Halley’s Comet was chronicled in the success of his invasion.

There are those who believe the Star of Bethlehem’s characteristics in the Bible at the time of the Christ Child, are those similar with a comet, since it was a star that appeared in the heavens to the wise men from the East and it traveled before them in the sky.

Great comets have also been branded with titles such as the Harbinger of Doom, with them regarded as omens of disaster with cultures of the past believing they were sending them a message.

Throughout history comets have been blamed for some of history’s darkest times. In Switzerland, Halley’s Comet was blamed for earthquakes, illnesses, red rain, and even the births of two-headed animals.

The Romans recorded that a fiery comet marked the assassination of Julius Caesar, and another was blamed for the extreme bloodshed during the battle between Pompey and Caesar.

In England, Halley’s Comet was blamed for bringing the Black Death. And now in 2020, with the world-wide pandemic of the pestilence of coronavirus raging here in the U.S., there is the surprise of C/2020 arriving as the Great Comet NEOWISE.

So far this year of 2020, the prophetic signs in the prophecies of Jesus have been bursting onto the world scene.
