In a medical first, doctors transplanted a pig heart into a human patient with the hospital saying the man is doing well three days after the highly experimental surgery.
The doctors who did the transplant surgery say it’s too soon to know if the operation really will work, but say that it marks a step in the quest of science to use animal organs for life-saving transplants.
The man is said to be breathing on his own while still connected to a heart-lung machine to help his new heart. And that the next few weeks will be critical as he recovers from the surgery and doctors carefully monitor how the heart is faring.
There is a huge shortage of human organs donated for transplant which is driving medical scientists to try to figure out how to use animal organs instead.
And they say if this works, there will be a new large supply of organs for transplant into patients who are suffering.
But prior attempts at such animal-to-human organ transplants — or xenotransplantation — have failed, largely because patients’ bodies rapidly rejected the animal organ.
But this time the surgeons used a heart from a pig that had undergone gene-editing to remove a sugar in its cells they say is responsible for the fast organ rejection.
The Food and Drug Administration, which oversees such experiments, allowed the surgery under what they call a “compassionate use” emergency authorization.
Yet God created the boundaries in nature where kind is to create kind, and in His Word warned against mixing the different kinds He created (Leviticus 19).
The New Testament of the Bible in 1 Corinthians chapter 15 also refers to how God set in place the difference between the species and their bodies.
And goes on to describe how all flesh is not the same flesh, but there is one kind of flesh of men and another flesh of the animals, with the Scripture showing the separation of the creatures in nature by God.
The Holy Bible goes on to describe in Proverbs 27:19 that the heart of man reflects the man. So without a human heart and instead an animal heart, how could the person still reflect a man that God created?
The Bible also teaches that the hidden man of the heart (1 Peter 3:4) is the seat of human life. And says that it is through the human heart that we can love the Lord our God (Luke 10:27) and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ (Romans 10:9 ).
The animal heart cannot believe on the Lord. It is the spirit of man that goes upward and the spirit of the beast goes down into the earth (Ecclesiastes 3:21), for the spirit of man returns to God who gave it (Ecclesiastes 12:7).
But Romans chapter 1 warns how humanity in the Last Days claiming themselves to be wise will have darkened their hearts by not retaining God in their knowledge as they press forward in their own ways crossing the lines.
Where is the boundary line for humanity now? Does the “Frankenstein” imagination become closer to reality? Where does it stop, if at all?
The Genesis in chapter 6 describes the time of Noah as an era when humanity’s heart was darkened as they were corrupted, to where all flesh had corrupted their way on the earth.
Where it grieved God and brought about the determination of the end of the ancient world in Noah’s Day through the flood of wrath.
And Lord Jesus Christ prophesied that as it was in the days of Noah so it will be also in the days of the fulfillment of the prophecies of the Lord.
The Biblical prophecies (Genesis 6, Matthew 24, Luke 17) foretell that the disobedience of humanity to the boundaries of the Word of God will rise again as it was in the time of Noah signaling we are nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
