Angry Russia Demands Jerusalem Church From Israel

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

Russian President Vladimir Putin reportedly sent an angry letter to Israel Prime Minister Naftali Bennett demanding that Israel hand over control of a church in Jerusalem.

As Russia’s two-month-old invasion of neighboring Ukraine continues, Russian President Putin is now demanding that Israel grant the Kremlin control of a church in Jerusalem named after a medieval Kievan Rus prince named Alexander Nevsky.

Putin’s letter came shortly after Israeli Foreign Minister Yair Lapid accused Russia of committing war crimes in Ukraine. With the Russian Foreign Ministry in Moscow slamming Lapid, saying that Israel is using Ukraine to cover up for its own conflict with the Palestinians.

In 2020, Russia arrested a young Israeli woman, Naama Issachar, for possession of cannabis. In exchange for her release, former Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu promised Putin to recognize the Russian government’s control of the Alexander Nevsky Church.

But then Israeli Judge Mordechai Kaduri of the Jerusalem District Court annulled the transfer of ownership of the historic Russian Orthodox church in the Old City to the Russian government.

And now amidst the growing Russian frustration with Israel linked to the Ukraine war, an angry Putin is now calling in the debt of the promise made by Netanyahu.

The Israeli court has now passed the hot potato to Israeli Prime Minister Bennett, who must decide the matter in the midst of the war between Russia and Ukraine and the massive sanctions imposed by the West on Russia.

As the Israeli leader has been trying to walk a tightrope over the Ukraine war so not to provoke Russia any further who has large military bases near Israel’s northern border.

But now the court has given Bennett no choice but to decide on the ownership of the Jerusalem church in the Old City, which has already caused major tensions between the Israeli government and the Kremlin.

The issues between Russia and Israel continue to build with them inextricably linked as they are prophetically drawn together positioning for the nearing fulfillment of the Gog and Magog events of the Ezekiel 38 prophecy.

The Biblical prophecies (Ezekiel 38, Ezekiel 39) foretell that Gog and Magog of Russia will ultimately take military action crossing the border of Israel in the Last Days signaling we are nearing the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

The prophecy has come true, the perilous times are here. The need is greater than ever before.
