A sandstorm swept across Saudi Arabia in what was described as a “Biblical event” and as “apocalyptic,” as the Sun was blocked and the sky turned an eerie blood red.

Several cities in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia were affected by the apocalyptic sandstorm.

The extreme weather event swept down from the northern region of the country hitting populations in Arar, al-Jawf, the capital Riyadh, Qassim, Hail, as well as Mecca and Medina.

The strong dust storm was fueled by northern winds of more than 70 kmh causing dust to reduce visibility to less than 50 meters.

The waves of dust were expected to continue until the beginning of Ramadan, pointing out that the region will be affected by a large dust wave and a strong activity of winds, that could reach 90 km per hour.

The civil defense urged people to stay indoors at home and warned any drivers to be cautious when driving. Of course, Saudi Arabian airspace was also affected due the intensity of the winds and low visibility from dust due to the sandstorm.

Also, the capital city of China was recently hit by a sandstorm that turned the sky a weird yellowish orange causing unprecedented pollution in Beijing.

As the unprecedented apocalyptic skies caused residents to say “it looks like the end of the world.”
