A lunar eclipse that is a rare event will happen this week on Friday, in that it will be the longest nearly total lunar eclipse of a blood moon in a millennium.

Lunar eclipses happen when Earth comes between the moon and the sun, so that our planet’s shadow eclipses or “falls on” the moon.

The shadow can block all, or in the case of a partial eclipse most, of the sun’s light and make the moon dark and then a rusty red.

This reddening of the moon happens because light from the sun, despite being directly blocked by Earth’s umbra, or the darkest part of its shadow, bends around our planet and travels through our atmosphere to reach the moon.

As it does, Earth’s atmosphere filters out shorter, bluer wavelengths of light and allows the red and orange wavelengths through. Where they continue traveling to the moon bathing it in the reddish light.

And this lunar eclipse will turn the moon reddish as a blood moon. As it will be a near total eclipse with over 98% of earth’s satellite in our planet’s shadow.

This will also be a very deep lunar eclipse.

As it will appear relatively small in the night sky as the Moon reaches the apogee, the farthest point away from Earth, of its slightly elliptical orbital path around the Earth.

Which explains why the moon will spend so long inside Earth’s shadow. As experts say this eclipse will also be the longest almost total blood moon eclipse in 580 years.

Reports say the last time such an eclipse lasting this long occurred was on February 18, 1440; and that the next one would not occur until the year 2669. That is a span of over 1000 years — making this a rare event of a millennium of time.

The year 1440 marked a time of conflict in the region of Europe with the Prussian confederation being formed and there was also the rise of new kings.

And Biblical Prophecy foretells that in the Mediterranean Region there will again be conflict in the Last Days with the rise of a confederation of ten kings (Daniel 7, Revelation 17).

Also at 1440, the Ming Dynasty had risen into great power as one of the last great imperial dynasty’s of China – which completed the Great Wall of China and constructed the Forbidden City imperial residence.

While they also grew a standing army exceeding one million troops and the navy’s dockyards in Nanjing were the largest in the world.

And now the kingdom of China is once again rising into power as it has experienced phenomenal growth both financially and militarily.

As it is now expanding its One Belt One Road System (New Silk Road) across the East and through the gateway of the Middle East at the Euphrates River in Syria up to Europe.

And Biblical prophecy foretells that the way of the kings from the East will be prepared in the Last Days at the Euphrates River (Revelation 16).

And that the nations will be led out to the place called Armageddon to gather them to the battle of that great day of God Almighty.

The Biblical prophecies (Luke 21, Revelation 6) foretell that there will be signs in the heavens, including the moon becoming like blood, which will signal the nearing end of the age and the return of Jesus Christ.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
