CBS news reports that passengers fell ill on separate international flights coming into Philadelphia International Airport today.

Officials said passengers arriving at the airport on American Airlines flights from Paris and Munich experienced flu-like symptoms. Multiple ambulances were dispatched to the airport.

All 250 passengers and crew on the flights were held for a medical review and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention was notified to investigate. The CDC, Philadelphia Health Department and the Philadelphia Fire Department personnel performed medical evaluations on the passengers.

It is not yet known what caused the people to become sick but it was said they had flu-like symptoms. This news is just breaking and is a developing story.

This happens just after a large commercial jet from Dubai caused a scare yesterday when landing at New York’s Kennedy Airport with 100 passengers and crew members who fell ill on the flight.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention immediately quarantined the double-decker Emirates aircraft holding 520 passengers with a large-scale emergency response when the aircraft touched down so it could evaluate the 100 passengers who were seriously ill.

These incidents show the potential how a pestilence could quickly spread around the world with mass infections in today’s modern world-wide travel within a day.
