Britain has carried out its first airstrikes in Syria, hours after MPs voted overwhelmingly to authorise military action. Royal Air Force Tornado GR.4 strike aircraft pounded Daesh targets overnight after the British parliament voted to expand the United Kingdom’s air campaign beyond Iraq into Syria. The British warplanes struck the Omar oil field deep inside Syria within hours of receiving parliamentary approval as the first step in cutting the Daesh terror organization’s financial lifeline.
