Canadian Police Block Churchgoers From Worship Service

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

A Canadian Christian church was prevented by police from holding a drive-in worship service as police blocked churchgoers on a snowy day from entering the church’s parking lot for the service.

Unable to enter, dozens of cars lined up outside the parking lot and listened to the pastor preach from the outdoor stage through a radio broadcast.

The church in Manitoba had previously received a $5,000 ticket for conducting a service despite COVID-19-related restrictions.

The senior Pastor said from the stage “God has given us the right to worship Him together and He wants to see His people united, it seems like we’re living in a different Canada. It’s very heartbreaking to me.”

In an open letter the Pastor argued that while “the Bible teaches Christians to be good citizens and obey the reasonable demands of our government,” it does not “teach blind obedience to the authorities when onerous restrictions are placed on our freedoms.”

“We are not asking for special treatment, just equal treatment,” the pastor wrote, noting that businesses such as liquor stores and Walmart are allowed to remain open.

“It is our faith community that is singled out for public criticism, media attention, and visits by the RCMP, Manitoba Public Health and local law enforcement. There must be an allowable expression of faith that is deemed essential while we are allowing the sale of products at establishments that exist solely for the sale of alcohol, coffee, donuts, cannabis, and fast food.”

While grateful for the police, the Pastor urged them to resist the enforcement of “draconian and unconstitutional orders.” Churchgoers were also urged not to engage in any abusive behavior toward the police.

The Pastor described it is not just about in-person services but a wholesale attack on faith and the freedom of the church to do its God-called duty, saying that fundamental freedoms were being eroded “at a historically alarming rate.”

The Biblical prophecies of Jesus (Matthew 24, Luke 21) describe pestilence as a sign which indicates the beginning of the end of this age of grace, and that tribulation or trouble will come to believers at that time.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

The prophecy has come true, the perilous times are here. The need is greater than ever before.
