A church community in Kentucky has found a symbol of hope still standing in the rubble of their house of worship after the church suffered catastrophic damage from the recent tornado.
The church altar inscribed with The Last Supper remained standing and undamaged at the First Christian Church of Mayfield while the rest of the building was torn apart.
The altar serves as the church’s communion table.
“It’s the center of our worship experience,” said the church’s senior minster. “It survived along with a cross that sits on it.
Four families from the church had their homes destroyed by the tornado while others sustained damage and had their automobiles destroyed but no one from the parish is known to have died.
Two days after the tornado hit, the congregation gathered for a prayer service in the church parking lot.
The church minister said “Our faith is positive, and God is never the author of bad things in people’s lives.” And that “I think this gives people an opportunity to pull together for the common good,” he said.
The Biblical prophecies (Ephesians 2, John 14, Revelation 12) foretell that the evil one as the prince of the power of the air will bring woe to the inhabitants of the earth having great wrath at the end of this age.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
