Death Toll Starts Climbing From Hurricane Harvey

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

Since Hurricane Harvey has left the Houston Area, search and rescue teams are increasingly finding those who lost their lives in the disaster.

The death toll has begun significantly rising with crews having found the bodies of 23 victims of Harvey’s devastation thus far.

But warnings are that the number of dead would almost certainly soar as water levels across much of the Houston area start to recede.

Some of the reports from authorities say a married couple that were headed to a relative’s house nearby drove their pickup truck into Harvey’s floodwaters and drowned after the current from a nearby creek swept them away.

Another sad report said that a van carrying 6 family members had been located after it was swept off a bridge and into a storm-ravaged bayou.

Additionally, it was reported that two volunteer rescuers were killed when their motorboat was electrocuted by submerged power lines in a bayou, and two other rescuers were missing. A fifth volunteer and two journalists survived but were forced to cling to trees and branches for about 18 hours.

Please pray for the families of those we have lost and for the recovery of the area.

Thank you.
