US President Trump in a tweet has announced the US will recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights, reversing over 50 years of US policy since Israel’s capture of the strategic plateau from Syria during the 1967 Six Day War.

But the Russians and its Arab allies as Syria, Iran, and Turkey are rejecting Trump’s recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights saying he has brought more crisis to the region.

Russia, who is supporting the forces of Syrian President Bashar Al Assad in the Syrian civil war, condemned Trump’s declaration as a violation of UN decisions.

Iran, another key ally of Russia and the Assad regime, said the move was a violation of international law. And Turkey’s President, an ally of Russia and Iran, said Trump’s Golan Heights announcement “… brings the region to the edge of a new crisis.”

And Turkey’s Erdogan added, “We will never allow the occupation of the Golan Heights to be made legitimate.”

The Biblical prophecies (Ezekiel 38, 39) foretell that a force from Russia, Iran, and Turkey led by a leader called Gog of Magog will surprise the world attacking Israel at the northern Golan Heights in the Last Days.

And right now, the military forces of these countries are at or not far from Israel’s Golan Heights border.

And could Trump’s recognition of the Golan Heights as being Israeli have just struck the match that will light the fires of Syria, Iran, and Turkey to desire Russia’s help in retaking the Golan Heights from Israel?

There is no doubt that Syria, Iran, and Turkey want to take the Golan Heights back from Israel. As the Turkish President said, they will never allow the occupation of the Golan Heights to stand.

Also, Russia who is the ally of Syria has said that they think the Israeli occupation of the Syrian Golan Heights is illegitimate and unlawful. And to think that Syria or Iran has brought up the idea to Russia’s leaders to help them re-take it is very reasonable.

It remains to be seen if Israel will respond with a move of its own, as it never formally annexed the Golan Heights despite having extended Israeli law to the territory in 1981, in a move never recognized internationally.

Don’t doubt that the Golan Heights is a big deal. Israel’s control of the Golan Heights is strategically and critically important for the Jewish State, and it’s survival.

One reason the Golan Heights is of great importance for Israel’s survival is that the Golan provides protection for Israel from Arab enemies as Syria or Iran.

Who could from the high ground position in the mountain highlands of the Golan Heights in Northern Israel put the entire lower-lying regions of the coastal plains and Jordan Valley at risk, and easily lob missiles and bombs into the rest of the small country of Israel.

Another issue of survival in such an arid region as the Mid-East is water. And the Golan is thought to provide around one-third of Israel’s fresh water supply. And water from the Golan also travels into the Sea of Galilee and the Jordan River.

And since Israel’s control, the Golan Heights were discovered to be filled with serious amounts of natural resources as oil & gas. The Golan Heights are Israel’s proverbial “oasis” in the desert.

Israel will not give it up.

But the Ezekiel 38 prophecy also foretells that these same resources will cause evil thoughts and a plan against Israel to arise in the Gog of Magog leader’s mind, to where he will desire to take the Golan Heights for plunder and booty.

So Magog (Russia) will finally go along with Iran, Turkey, and others to bring a force near the Golan Heights and then make a surprise attack into the Golan Heights. Initially shocking the West and its allies as Saudi Arabia in the region, while using UN resolutions as ample justification for their action.

But the prophecy says it does not work out well for them. For when Gog of Magog comes against the land of Israel, the Lord’s fury will show in his face… and they shall know that He is the Lord.

The Lord God Himself intervenes when they attack Israel, commanding nature to destroy their forces on the mountains of Israel with a great earthquake, landslides, flooding rain, great hailstones, and even fire and brimstone.

The prophecy says the destruction on the Gog of Magog forces is so horrific and complete that it takes Israel seven years to clean it up with fires.

And now, Trump saying the US will recognize Israel’s sovereignty over the Golan Heights has certainly moved realization of the prophecy much closer.
