For the first time in history, the United States has established an official, permanent military base in Israel: an air defense base in the heart of the Negev desert.
US Air Force soldiers will call home the new base, located inside the Israeli Air Force’s Mashabim Air Base, west of the towns of Dimona and Yerucham.
Brig. Gen. Tzvika Haimovitch, head of the IAF’s Aerial Defense Command, announced the establishment of the installation. “It’s nothing short of historic,” he said. It demonstrates the “years-old alliance between the United States and the State of Israel.”
He also said, the permanent presence of a US base on Israeli soil sends a “message to the region and our surroundings that our partnership with our friend the United States is important.”
US military forces are routinely based in Israel, both for joint exercises and for routine cooperation with the IDF, but this new base is a meaningful change.
Where there now is an established American base in the State of Israel, in the Israel Defense Forces, for the first time, with an American flag flying.
In Scripture, the eagle has been used to represent the protection and deliverance that God has provided for Israel. For example, in Exodus 19:4 it says, “You have seen what I did to the Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’ wings and brought you to Myself.”
Without doubt God raised up America, represented by the eagle, for His purposes as a country that feared and reverenced Him to serve His will. And time and again, America has done that by being the ally of Israel providing it protection and deliverance from its enemies.
This historic US base established in the State of Israel with an American flag flying there in a wilderness desert place are Signs of the Last Days Prophecies.
For Revelation 12:13-14 says, “Now when the dragon… persecuted the woman who gave birth to the male Child... the woman was given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness to her place, where she is nourished.”
