Israel said it shot down a Syrian warplane and killed the pilot as it crossed into the Golan Heights, and Damascus said the jet was fired on as it took part in sorties against Syrian rebels.
The incident added new fuel to increasing tensions over the Golan, a strategic plateau between the two old enemies and where Israel has been on high alert as Syrian government forces, supported by Russia, close in to regain rebel-held ground.
Israel worries that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad will not honor a 1974 U.N. armistice that demilitarized much of the Golan, or that He will let his Iranian and Hezbollah allies deploy there.
For the second time in as many days, Israeli sirens sounded on the Golan and witnesses saw the contrails of interceptor missiles flying skyward toward military incursions toward Israeli airspace.
Also, another earthquake was felt again in northern Israel in a series of tremors swarming in the region. The temblor, measuring around 3.4 on the Richter scale, was felt in the same area as others around the Sea of Galilee, according to Israel’s Geophysical Institute.
It’s interesting how that as tensions have been increasing between Israel and Syria with Syrian allies of Iran and Russia drawing close to the Israeli Golan Heights, at the same time adjacent to the Golan Heights at the Sea of Galilee tensions in the earth have been increasing also with a swarm of earthquakes.
For the Ezekiel 38 Prophecy foretells that in the Last Days Russia Magog and Persian Iran forces will secretly cross over into Israel at the Northern Mountains of Israel but then God destroys them there with a mighty earthquake.
Its as if nature of earth created by God is sensing the coming prophetic event and is giving off signs of preparation.
The signs are telling us significant prophetic events are drawing near.
