An earthquake has happened in Rome just 6 kilometers outside of Vatican City according to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS).

The tremor was reported to be 3.1 magnitude at a depth of 10 kilometers which struck about 5 am Monday.

There were dozens of reports by the public saying they had felt the earthquake during a thunderstorm at the time.

The dawn tremor was short but intense, with reports on social media of Rome residents running out onto the street. There have been no reports of structural damage.

A recent series of tremors and a nearby volcano’s reawakening has prompted fears of a major earthquake to come in Rome at the Roman Vatican.

Earthquakes and volcanic activity can often go hand in hand, and Italy is one of the world’s most seismically and volcanically active countries.

And there are those who say a major earthquake is prophesied to happen at the Vatican City.

They point to where Revelation Prophecy describes in chapter 16 how there will be a great earthquake that will affect the earth and hit what the prophecy calls the great city.

And as great Babylon that is remembered before God, to give her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of His wrath. 

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24) describe that earthquakes will be a sign which indicates the beginning of the end of this age of grace called the “beginning of sorrows.”

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
