Earthquakes Hit Vancouver Area

Signs of the Last Days® MinistryNews

Two earthquakes struck west of Vancouver Island. The National Tsunami Warning Center said that a tsunami was not expected from either earthquake.

A 4.6 magnitude earthquake with a depth of 3 kilometers struck approximately 170 kilometers west of Port Hardy.

Just over one hour later a 5.3 magnitude earthquake with a depth of 10 kilometers struck 196 kilometers west of Port Hardy.

Karen Robertson, manager of the Outpost store in Winter Harbour, says she felt the second earthquake. “I was sitting just in a chair, doing some reading and I heard the house kind of creak,” she told CTV News.

“Then all of a sudden the chair started shaking sideways and I thought I was imagining it but then the TV screen was also moving.” Robertson said the quake felt like it lasted approximately four or five seconds.

“A very, very weird sensation,” she said. “You feel sick to your stomach for a very short period of time.”

There we no reports of damage from either quake. The region is located in an active seismic zone in which two tectonic plates converge.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that earthquakes will be a sign of the Last Days indicating the coming end of the age and the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ.
