Scientists are warning Earth’s magnetic North Pole has begun moving ‘erratically’ at speeds so fast they are having to issue an emergency update to maps used by electronic navigation systems.

They say the magnetic North Pole is ‘skittering’ away from Canada towards Siberia.

The researchers are saying it is moving at an ‘unusually high speed of about 50 km per year’ with Canada essentially losing a magnetic tug-of-war with Siberia.

Because of this researchers around the world are scrambling to update global models relied on by GPS navigation systems.

They are scrambling to update the World Magnetic Model which underlies all modern navigation, from the systems that steer ships at sea to Google Maps on smartphones.

Scientists in recent years have predicted that Earth’s magnetic field could be gearing up to ‘flip’ – a shift in which the magnetic south pole would become magnetic north, and vice versa.

Such an event could have catastrophic effects, wreaking havoc on the electric grid and leaving life at the surface exposed to higher amounts of solar radiation.

The damage just to the power grids and communications systems resulting from such a flip in today’s society would cause trillions of dollars in damage.

But the study suggests that Earth’s magnetic field is a lot more unpredictable than suspected with magnetic field behavior seeming to vary much more rapidly than previously thought.

The Biblical prophecies as Isaiah chapter 24 foretell it shall come to pass in that day that the earth will turn upside down (verse 1, 21).

And that the foundations of the earth do shake with the earth moved exceedingly to where the earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard (verses 18-20).

This shifting of the earth’s magnetic poles could be a sign of prophecy in the Last Days.
