After the Great American Eclipse, a tropical storm surprised all the experts by accelerating and making landfall in Texas as a Category 4 hurricane, the first to do so in over 50 years.
Suddenly in just a very few hours the storm went through a rapid intensification that powered it up from a tropical storm all the way through into a category 4 hurricane.
The surprise intensity of the storm at landfall has produced widespread devastation along the Gulf Coast. There was band after band of tropical powered rain with gusts of winds near 150 miles per hour that have made buildings to disappear, fires to rage, vehicles to wash away, and darkness to engulf towns.
The lack of the loss of life thus far is nothing less than a miracle, and let’s please pray for this continuing deliverance of life.
But its not over.
Now the storm system has stalled on the Gulf Coast, and is expected to meander along the next days as it is forecasted to drop massive amounts of tropical rain onto an area that is already notorious for flooding.
Already many of the rivers and bayous in the area have filled their banks, and if anywhere near the forecasted 40 inches of rain happens in the next few days, it could be massively catastrophic.
Survivor after survivor described in the news that Hurricane Harvey “roared” as it came ashore wreaking havoc and destruction as it went through their area.
They are describing the very sound that Jesus foretold as a Sign of the Sea in Last Days prophecies . He said in Luke 21:25 that in the Last Days there would be the sign of “the sea and the waves roaring.”
And that this sign would contribute to having a major impact on the nations with distress and perplexity.
The speed at which Hurricane Harvey developed shocked the national forecasters at the National Hurricane Center saying it happened faster than expected not knowing it would happen that fast.
It did so because all the factors needed as ingredients for such a big storm were lined up with the previous heat records last winter that setup the waters of the Gulf of Mexico to have been warmer than average this year.
Likewise as a sign, there is a storm of trouble yet coming for the world that Jesus foretold as a time of Great Tribulation. The factors are all lined up indicating it is coming as the worst time of trouble the world has ever known.
Jesus described it in Matthew 24:21, “For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be.”
Like this Hurricane the signs are there, but the world will be caught by surprise as it suddenly enters into a time of trouble far beyond any category 5 storm.
But there is deliverance. Just as before in the Last Days of ancient mankind during the days of Noah, there was an ark of safety.
There is one now that will take people above the coming great storm of tribulation – it is provided by Jesus Christ. It is His Church which will rise above the troubled waters to safety.
Let us watch for the Signs of the Last Days and pray for the deliverance of as many as will have an ear to let them hear what the Holy Spirit says.
