In his state of the union speech, titled The Hour of European Sovereignty, the European Union President called on European heads of government to give the EU the powers and characteristics traditionally restricted to nation states.

Jean-Claude Juncker said the European Union must turn into a major sovereign power on the global stage making the world in its image, while setting out plans to make Europe militarily and economically independent from its traditional ally the US.

Juncker told the European parliament that “The geopolitical situation makes this Europe’s hour: the time for European sovereignty has come. It is time Europe took its destiny into its own hands. It is time Europe developed what I coined Weltpolitikfähigkeit – the capacity to play a role, as a union, in shaping global affairs. Europe has to become a more sovereign actor in international relations.”

Although Juncker worked to avoid using the word superpower the direction is clear that Europe’s vision for itself is expanding. Including the aim to surpass the dominance of the dollar in the world economy and challenge other major powers as the US and China by becoming the ascendant influence in the world.

This points to the prophecies in Daniel that indicate a Last Days Revived Roman Empire will form a world government from which comes a world leader bringing in the end of days.
