In Houston deluge 40,000+ homes and 1 million cars destroyed; Los Angeles is evacuating from historic wildfire and widespread power failures from record heat and lightning.
It seems that the earth is convulsing with pains of catastrophe. The Scriptures (Romans 8:22; Matthew 24:8) foretell this condition calling out how that creation has been groaning as if in pain.
They are leading to woes that will overwhelm the governments of man as their resources continue to be over-stretched to meet and recover from them.
As state and federal budget deficits are continuing to grow, the news is coming in that Hurricane Harvey is expected to be the costliest natural disaster in U.S. history which is estimated to approach $160 billion.
A Millennium Event , a rare 1-in-1000 year event.
Another in an on-going pattern of rare events in recent years, which could be a harbinger or sign of more such events coming.
In times past humankind may would have prayed and turned to God stopping their evil ways.
But now these are Signs of the Last Days where secular attitudes have turned to entrenched humanism and turned God out as a relic of the past.
While their governments go about institutionalizing the very ungodliness the Word of God teaches against.
There’s a lot of misery now here in the Houston area – Across California too, with record heat, fires, and no electricity for tens of thousands; and in so many other places across the world.
I’m so sorry to say there’s more to come for this world, since humankind will continue in whats right in their own eyes:
Revelation 16:8-9, “Then the fourth angel poured out his bowl… and they blasphemed the name of God who has power over these plagues; and they did not repent and give Him glory. ”
But for those born-again believers that have a heart for God who hear what the Spirit & Word of God are saying to us:
“… I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. ” (Romans 8:18)
