The catastrophic toll of California’s firestorms continues to rise with now 29 dead, hundreds missing, and thousands displaced. The infernos burning across the region are now the state’s deadliest wildfires on record.
The relentless fires and mounting death toll have already reached historically grim heights and any reprieve appears remote.
As the destruction enters its fifth day, officials focused their efforts on finding the missing and the dead. Authorities continue to search for the hundreds of people who remain unaccounted for, using cadaver dogs to sniff through scorched rubble.
In a news conference a county sheriff said “We’ve found bodies that were almost completely intact; we’ve found bodies that are nothing more than ashes and bones.”
In some cases, bodies were only identified through ID cards or the serial number of medical devices found nearby.
As search and rescue teams gain access to “hot zones” that were immolated in the firestorm, officials expect to confirm more fatalities.
California’s fire chief said this is “a serious, critical, catastrophic event.”
These are Signs of the Last Days prophecies (Mathew 24) that point toward the end of this age and then the prophecy of the coming Great Tribulation of earth.
Where unprecedented disasters occur with a rising frequency bringing increasingly catastrophic results for humankind.
These firestorms which broke out almost simultaneously in California are unprecedented and never before seen with one resident saying “It was like Armageddon was on.”
