The first ever fighter jet patrols by the Russian military in Syria along Israel’s Golan border have started with the Russian Ministry of Defense saying that the flights are planned to continue as a regular series of patrol flights.
The Russian fighter jets along with Syrian fighter jets, strike aircraft, and radar planes, took a provocative course that included skirting Israel’s Golan Heights.
On a mission that seems to have been a very deliberate signal to Israel, which has this strategically important position of the Golan Heights in the region.
Russian airpower continues to support Bashar al-Assad’s forces in Syria, and this new series of fighter jet patrol missions along the Golan Heights seems to have been intended to signal intent to Israel.
Israel captured the Golan Heights from Syria during the 1967 Six Day War and the two countries have been technically at war ever since.
Assad has made it clear that Syria wants the Golan Heights returned, while Israel says that the Golan is forever Israel. But the UN has passed resolutions calling on Israel to return the Golan Heights to Syria.
Also, Russia, which has long been a key backer of Syria and has supported Assad’s forces in the Syrian civil war, has also condemned Israel as being in violation of those UN decisions.
Additionally, during the Syrian civil war until now, Russia has long opposed Israeli air strikes into Syria saying they should stop. But Israel has continued them against Iranian positions and weapon transfers in Syria, as Israel has tried to suppress Iranian activities with their militias.
And now these new joint fighter jet patrols with Assad combining his forces with Russian airpower, could be demonstrating Syria’s resolve over the contested Golan Heights with Russia’s support. And could also be meant as a further message from Russia to Israel concerning the unwanted airstrikes into Syria.
The Russian Defense Ministry said that the path of this first patrol included the Israeli and Syrian Golan Heights that has seen regular Israeli air strikes against suspected Iranian and Hezbollah positions.
Saying that “the mission route included the Golan Heights, the southern border of Syria, the Euphrates River and northern Syria.” And that the “Russian pilots took off from Khmeimim Air Base, while the Syrians took off from the Sayqal and Al-Dumayur bases near Damascus.”
The Golan Heights, the Euphrates River, Syria, and Damascus, are all called out in Last Days Biblical Prophecy. Where Israel’s northern mountainous region, which is the Golan Heights, is called out in the Ezekiel 38 Gog of Magog prophecy.
Syria is called out by an ancient tribal name in the Psalm 83 prophecy as being in the large Arab confederacy who tries to wipe out Israel as a nation in the Last Days. But Damascus is called out in the Isaiah 17 prophecy as being totally destroyed.
And the Euphrates River is called out in the Revelation 9 prophecy as the place of the most horrific world war that the world will ever know.
The Biblical prophecies (Ezekiel 38, Ezekiel 39) foretell in the Gog of Magog prophecy that an alliance of countries including Iran and Turkey, will be led by Russia that invade the border of Israel in the Last Days signaling the nearing fulfillment of end-time prophecies at the end of this age and the coming of Jesus Christ.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
