HOUSTON – Houston police chief, Art Acevedo said he has “never seen anything of this magnitude in his 31 years of earthquakes, floods, and riots.”
Chief Acevedo commented on the “catastrophic” flooding event impacting Houston and the surrounding areas.
Thousands of calls have been answered with hundreds rescued but many are reportedly still trapped.
Rescue crews from across the State of Texas and other States are making their way to Houston to help with the flooding.
Despite help on the way, chief Acevedo said “this is going to go well beyond anything we’ve ever seen.”
He went on to say, “It’s going to be a long five or six days. We need to come together as a community.”
“We will be in a long, long recovery mode in our city,” chief Acevedo added.
