The darkest day ever recorded was recently measured in Seattle which was described as an “infernal darkness” that was extraordinary.

Cliff Mass, a meteorologist and professor of atmospheric sciences at the UW, said the approaching winter solstice already would have limited the amount of solar radiation reaching the atmosphere.

But that mixed together with the record-setting rainfall and heavy clouds that parked above the Seattle area all came together to give the record.

Technically, it was the darkest day ever recorded by three devices that the University of Washington installed on the roof of its atmospheric sciences building in 1996.

The devices, known as pyranometers, measure the amount of solar radiation — or energy — that reaches the surface of the earth each day.

The pyranometers recorded just 0.37 megajoules of solar radiation over a square meter surface. By comparison, the levels of solar radiation were nearly 73 times that during several days in the summer.

Mass said “The infernal darkness … was extraordinary, even by Seattle standards …”

“Psychologically, this has a big impact on some people,” he said. “That’s one reason to want to understand this … it’s a force that’s greater than ourselves, and people can sense that.”

And this overwhelming force of darkness is foretold in the Biblical Prophecies (Revelation 16) as a future plague upon the world in the coming Great Tribulation.

It will be similar to one of the historical plagues on Egypt in the Exodus where there was a darkness that was described as so thick it could be felt.

Where in the nearing Great Tribulation the prophecy foretells how that in the Anti-christ’s Kingdom it will become full of darkness that overwhelms people until they gnaw their tongues because of the pain of it.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
