An unnoticed “insect apocalypse” has been happening on Earth, to where half of all insects have been lost since 1970, and 400,000 species face extinction which could spell world-wide famine and disaster for humanity on Earth.
A new report says half of all insects have been lost since 1970 due to the heavy use of pesticides. And unless the ‘unnoticed insect apocalypse’ is stopped it could cause a ‘catastrophic collapse of nature’s ecosystems’.
Leading ecologists at the University of Sussex, who carried out this study for the Wildlife Trusts, revealed that 40 per cent of the one million known insect species are now nearing extinction.
And the use of pesticides, which has doubled over the last 25 years, has seen 23 species of bees and wasps go extinct.
Butterflies are also suffering with a 77 percent decline of butterflies since the 1970s who require special habitats and a 46 percent fall in general species of butterfly who are more hardy to human activity.
Without insects, a multitude of birds, bats, reptiles, amphibians, small mammals and fish would disappear, for they would have nothing to eat.
And eighty-seven percent, or almost all plants, require animal pollination, most of it delivered by insects – meaning the global human population could not be fed without insect pollination.
The report claims public perception of biodiversity loss needs to shift its focus from larger animals – such as the northern white rhino or birds such as the dodo- to insects and smaller vertebrates such as fish, amphibians, reptiles, mammals and birds, whose populations fell by 60 per cent between 1970 and 2014.
Also, in the U.S. extreme weather has hit honeybees hard with the weather of 2019 wiping out 1/3 of honey bees, which 1/3 of the human diet comes from pollinators as the bees.
In Germany, another study reported that 75 percent of flying insects in nature reserves across Germany have vanished in the past 25 years.
In Puerto Rico there has been an insect collapse where scientists doing this study said 98 percent of ground insects have vanished and up in the forest leafy canopy 80% have vanished.
The scientists in Puerto Rico said the absence of birds now was stunning. Where the frogs and birds had also declined simultaneously by about 50% to 65%, with some birds that eat almost nothing but insects dropping by 90%.
Today’s children will grow up in a world with fewer birds, flowers and insects than before, and will be told of a time when insects as butterflies or lightning bugs were once more common.
The newly revealed scale of the losses to all insects has prompted warnings that the world is “on course for ecological Armageddon”, with profound impacts as famine on human society.
The prophecies of the Bible (Matthew 24, Luke 21, Revelation 6) foretell that there will be famine in the world as a sign of the Last Days prophecies.
These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
