Mideast tensions are continuing to rise as Israel is reported to have attacked Iran, by expanding their airstrikes now against Iranian targets inside Iraq.

Where Israeli Air Force F-35 jets and/or drones are said to be behind 2 strikes on Iranian targets near Baghdad in Iraq.

Israel had been commonly conducting air strikes into Syrian territory, targeting Iranian forces and missiles including shipments meant for Lebanese terror group Hezbollah to use against the Jewish state.

But Israel had not been reaching into Iraq, where there had been no strikes into Iraq by Israel reported, since the 1981 bombing of a nuclear reactor.

When Israel conducted Operation Babylon, which was a surprise Israeli air strike carried out on June 7, 1981, which destroyed an Iraqi nuclear reactor under construction 17 kilometers southeast of Baghdad.

But now reports say Israel has expanded its operations against Iranian targets into Iraq, where they have struck at least twice in ten days.

Asharq Al-Awsat, an Arabic-language newspaper published in London, cited Western diplomatic sources as saying an Israeli F-35 plane was behind the July 19 strike on a rocket depot in an Iranian militia base north of Baghdad.

The Saudi-based al-Arabiya network reported at the time that members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards Corps or the IRGC and Hezbollah had been killed in the strike.

It also said the base had shortly before the strike received Iranian ballistic missiles, which had been hidden inside trucks; Saying the Iranian-made ballistic missiles were transported to the base just before the attack hidden in trucks used to transport refrigerated food.

The reports also said that Israel was behind another strike in Iraq as well, carried out on another Iranian militia camp located 40 kilometers northeast of Baghdad and 80 kilometers from the Iranian border.

And that strike had targeted Iranian advisers who were present at the base and a shipment of ballistic missiles that had also just arrived from Iran.

This camp was the main base and command headquarters of the Badr Brigades, the largest pro-Iranian militia in Iraq; and this militia has become heavily engaged in Tehran’s new drive to transform Iraq into a front-line base of operations.

Iran has been ramping up efforts to turn Iraq, which has become a proxy nation for Iran, into a forward operational area for their ballistic missiles.

Which from Iraq, those missiles would be able to reach into Saudi Arabia and also into Israel. So Israel has escalated its military operations against Iran’s new, ongoing initiatives to set up this new front-line military presence in Iraq.
