Jerusalem recorded its highest ever temperature setting a new record of 42.8°C (109°F). The current heatwave has been unprecedented for Jerusalem.

For Jerusalem usually enjoys slightly cooler weather than the rest of the country thanks to its location and relatively high altitude at some 800 meters (2,600 feet) above sea level.

But an oppressive heat wave that settled over Israel saw Jerusalem sweating under its hottest-ever temperatures.

The temperature was recorded at Jerusalem’s central weather station according to the Israel Meteorological Service, smashing the previous record of 41º C (105.8º F) set on August 20, 2010.

Much of the rest of the country will also continue to swelter under the heat wave.

Which is expected to taper off slightly but then could return with a vengeance when temperatures are expected again to reach the uppers 30s Celsius in Jerusalem, and higher elsewhere.

Extreme humidity was also reported in coastal cities throughout the country and the Israel Meteorological Service said temperatures were expected to remain above the seasonal average.

Thousands of residents from the surrounding area in central Israel were left sweltering without air conditioning after power outages were reported. While emergency medics have scrambled to keep up with heat-related injuries nationwide.

The Biblical Prophecies (Revelation 16) foretell that the heat from the Sun will become so extreme on earth that it will scorch humanity with great heat and fire at the end of this age.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
