A Michigan campaign stop featuring Vice President Mike Pence set off a media firestorm after a local Jewish rabbi who believes Jesus was the messiah invoked Jesus’ name in prayers for victims of the Pittsburgh synagogue massacre.

The rabbi said in the prayer, “God of Abraham, God of Isaac, God of Jacob, God and father of my lord and savior Yeshua, Jesus the Messiah, and my God and father, too.”

The rabbi, Loren Jacobs, leads Shema Yisrael in Bloomfield, a Messianic congregation that follows Jewish law but also believes in the New Testament.

But the group is generally rejected by mainstream Jews, who along with the liberal Jewish action group Bend the Arc were upset and blasted having this rabbi pray who used the name of Jesus, calling it yet another anti-semitic attack on Jews after Pittsburg.

The Jewish rejection of Jesus Christ as the Messiah, even though His life actually fulfilled the Jewish prophecies, was done so that they could keep their traditions instead, while rejecting the plan of God.

And with the Jewish nation’s rejection and killing of Jesus, they fulfilled the prophecies (Isa. 8, Romans 9) to where Jesus became a stone of offense and a rock of stumbling to the house of Israel, and a trap and a snare to the inhabitants of Jerusalem. And this status continues until this day as seen in this incident.

And the prophecies foretell the suffering of Jews, Israel, and Jerusalem will continue into the future, as the coming antichrist whom they will first embrace, will also turn on them and persecute them and attack Jerusalem. (Daniel 9, Zechariah 13, Revelation 12)

And at the end of the Great Tribulation when Jesus returns to earth to save the Jews and the world from the destruction perpetuated by the anti-christ , they will then look upon the one whom they pierced and realize Jesus as their Messiah. (Zechariah 12, Romans 9, Romans 11)
