The mayor of Seattle had said that the Capital Hill area of Seattle, taken over by violent rioters in the wake of George Floyd’s death after police had abandoned their precinct, could bring a “summer of love” there.
Where one man was killed and another wounded, and when officers tried to respond inside the protest zone they were met by a violent crowd that prevented officers to access the victims.
The socialist councilwoman on the Seattle City Council, Kshama Sawant, who has publicly supported and complimented the protesting rioters for taking over this area of Seattle saying they should not hand it back to police, said it was a right-wing attack while offering no evidence.
Meanwhile, businesses inside and outside this Seattle area have suffered from the lawlessness.
An auto repair shop in the lawless zone was broken into, robbed and set afire with the owner calling police “multiple times” who they say never responded.
A nearby Trader Joe’s in the Capitol Hill area announced it was closing immediately and indefinitely because of “safety and security concerns.”
Also, the CEO of a billion-dollar investment firm said his company is getting out of Seattle and moving to Phoenix saying the mayor let the unrest get out of hand and turn deadly.
Now the Seattle Mayor, Democrat Jenny Durkan, said this week that the city’s police department will be returning to the abandoned precinct in the lawless autonomous zone following the grim weekend with several people shot.
With her suddenly realizing “the impacts on the businesses and residents and the community are now too much.” But her approach to restoring control to the area still sounds similar to her “summer of love” comment.
Saying that the returning police officers wouldn’t force protesters to leave the area, but would instead ask them to voluntarily leave the area.
We will see how that works out. As the saying goes, its hard to put the genie back in the bottle.
The Biblical prophecies of Jesus (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that the Last Days will be a time of lawlessness and violence, as as it was in the Days of Noah, indicating the nearing end of this age of grace.
These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
