Millions of people have been ordered to evacuate from coastal areas in India and Bangladesh ahead of a super cyclone that is tying the record for the strongest storm to have hit that region.

Super Cyclone Amphan is forecast to make landfall near the border of the two countries. As millions of people were being moved to safety as one of the fiercest cyclones in decades roared toward them with evacuation plans complicated by coronavirus.

And forecasters warn of extensive damage from high winds, heavy rainfall, tidal waves, and some flooding in crowded cities.

India’s meteorological chief said that the storm could be disastrous.

The storm rapidly intensified from 75 mph to 160 mph in just 24 hours from Sunday to Monday, strengthening from a Category 1 to a Category 5 equivalent storm on the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Wind Scale.

And then the storm’s winds increased to 165 mph. India’s Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for heavy rain and strong winds.

Amphan’s winds are whirling 435 miles out from its eye as it approaches land and forecasters have warned that it could bring 10 to 16 feet of storm surge.

Researchers said that Amphan’s powerful winds tied it with Gonu in 2007 for the strongest tropical cyclone on record in the North Indian Ocean since 1972.

It is the second super cyclone on record that has formed over the Bay of Bengal. The first of that classification was the devastating 1999 cyclone in Odisha state that left nearly 10,000 dead.

India and Bangladesh governments are evacuating millions of people from near the coast or in other flood-prone areas to cyclone shelters. As people carried bags with their belongings and also had their faces covered to protect against the coronavirus.

Bangladesh and India have tens of thousands of Covid-19 cases and both countries have not yet slowed their rates of infections. And now people are moving out of their homes into evacuation centers.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) describe that intense storms and pestilence will be signs which indicate the beginning of the end of this age of grace.

These events and conditions happening now are warning signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare now for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).
