Millions of locusts are descending on Africa in the worst outbreak in close to a century for some countries.

Hundreds of millions of the Biblical bugs swarmed into East Africa from Somalia and Ethiopia in the worst outbreak of desert locusts in Kenya they have seen in close to a century.

And Somalia and Ethiopia have not had an infestation like this in a quarter-century, destroying farmland and threatening an already vulnerable region with devastating famine.

A farmer in the region described how his cows were bewildered with them wondering what is happening as he spends hours trying to chase the locusts from his farm as they have eaten everything.

There is little that the farmers can do.

As a single swarm can contain up to 150 million locusts per square kilometer of farmland. And just one large swarm measured 37 miles long by 25 miles wide.

And the United Nations is saying that when the rains arrive in March and bring new vegetation across much of the region, the numbers of the fast-breeding locusts could grow by 500 times over their current numbers.

They also say the only effective way to combat them is aerial pesticide spraying but that won’t be easy since areas are in the grip of the al-Qaida-linked al-Shabab extremist group.

And the locals are saying they are really scared because the locusts can consume everything and they have never seen such a big number.

The Biblical prophecies (Matthew 24, Luke 21) foretell that famine will be a sign of the Last Days indicating the coming end of this age of grace.

These events and conditions happening now are signs pointing to the nearing fulfillment of the Last Days prophecies at the end of this age revealing it’s time to prepare for the nearing appearance of Jesus Christ for His Church by being born again spiritually into the Kingdom of God as Jesus said we must (John 3) and His Apostles who were authorized (Matthew 16:19) described how (Acts 2).

Preparing those Biblically born again into the Kingdom of God to be ready to escape all the things that will come to pass, in the wrath of the tribulation of Revelation prophecy, that comes upon the world of disobedience. As the born again Church is not appointed unto wrath (1 Thessalonians 1:10) but instead to salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ.
