A week after the Syrian military mistakenly shot down a Russian plane, Moscow has said again that Israel was ultimately to blame.

The incident initially caused a crisis in Russia-Israel relations as the Kremlin and Russian Military blamed Israeli pilots for  using the Russian plane as cover, resulting in its downing by putting it in the line of fire of Syrian defenses.

After last week’s incident, the two sides appeared to have struck a more conciliatory tone when Russian President Putin diffused tensions when he said that the incident was the result of “a chain of tragic accidental circumstances.”

But matters  took a turn for the worse today when Moscow said the blame for the shooting down of the Il-20 plane “lies entirely with the Israeli air force,” adding it would also supply Syria with the more advanced Russian S-300 missile system to ensure such an event doesn’t happen again.

Russia’s announcement that it will send Assad the S-300s will complicate the dynamics in Syria. The new missiles are far more accurate, and could limit the Israeli air force’s freedom of operation in Syria they’ve enjoyed so far.

Syria is entirely a zone of high-risk danger for the world to where an incident such as the Russian plane’s downing can have potential to trigger a regional flare-up of conflict involving not only Israel, Iran, and Syria, but also the powers of Russia and the United States.

And all of this is happening in Syria near the Euphrates River, which this river is the location where a Revelation prophecy foretells that the worst world war will start in the future.
